I had an Artist’s Date today. Part of it was solo and part of it was with others. I counted both parts as my Artist’s Date and really had a great day.
I went with some friends to a Renaissance Fair. I had never been to one before so it was an interesting experience. I saw some neat and very creative things. Well, mostly neat and creative people.
This guy who did an amazing job of playing the “glass harmonica”. Those are glasses with water and he played them beautifully.
Bellydancers.
A living statue. (I think she was supposed to “bless” people; I didn’t get blessed.)
This guy.

They also had a LOT of vendors with a LOT of different things (some pertaining to Renaissance and some… well, NOT.)
I enjoyed this new experience and saw a lot of interesting things.
For the solo part of my Artist’s Date, I took $10 into the Goodwill and browsed around. I found a few old dishes that will provide lots of great creative inspiration for my newfound love of cooking.
What did you do on your Artist’s Date this week?
Happy weekend,
Karen Beth

That looks like great fun. I had a good arty day. Spent about 2 hours writing the morning pages and doing the exercises to catch up. But I sat outside in the warm, green garden, with my beautiful dog. While everyone else was sleeping. Then took my daughter for a swim, good quality time.
Then did a bit of sketching while she finished her art homework. Then I used the left paint to complete a left over painting and it turned out quite well.
I intend to try and remember that you do not need a whole block of time to complete goals, and will try and fit small goals into small spaces.

I haven’t been commenting, but I have been keeping up with the Artist’s Way.
My Artist Date this week was also twofold. First, I visited a little diner (about 10 bar seats only!) Visiting it alone was such a treat. The two waitresses were so sweet to me, complimenting my necklace and asking if I had a boyfriend. I was grinning all day long!
The second part was making gingerbread alone. I loved the smell of the gingerbread filling the house. I shared it with my friends, and they loved it!
I love the picture of the man playing the glasses. It is a Christmas dinner tradition at my in-laws when we have the good crystal out. I’m sure it doesn’t sound anywhere near what he plays though! haha
I’ve never been to one of those either and I don’t know why, I’m sure I’d love it.
I just got around to blogging about week 1 artists date but I have been going. This week was a trip back to Ohio for some fall inspiration!!
