Welcome to The Artist’s Way Blog!
I really hope that this blog will be a success and a huge help to the creatives out there – whatever your medium might be – who need a bit of unblocking, motivation or a serious intervention.
What you will need for this journey:
- The book – The Artist’s Way
- A notebook, journal
- A sketchbook
- Some different mediums – traditional or alternative
- Your imagination – MOST important!
- A willingness to explore yourself and tear down your walls
Also, we will need several contributors to this blog – maybe five to eight? – who will regularly and actively post and help me to keep it up. If you are truly interested and think that you will be able to dedicate yourself to assisting with this, contact me at msred5@yahoo.com. We will talk a bit about it and, if it turns out to be a good fit, I will add you on as a co-author.
If you will be joining us in the program and would like your blog on the sidebar blogroll, please leave a comment and I will add it.
For more info and the disclaimer, see the About Page.
Prepare for some fun!
karen, i led a group through the artist’s way a couple years ago and it was a wonderful experience. i’m not up for doing the book again right now, but i’d be happy to share any support i can!
Beautiful site–love the idea! I can’t wait to see all the creativity that will abound here!
Lets see here, I’ve started and flaked out on that book twice now. Maybe an Artists Way community will be the perfect push I need to commit to the process. Count me In, the only problem I can foresee is that with a 2 year old, the morning pages might not be done at exactly the moment I wake up. Is that Ok, or is this going to be strictly by the book?
Hi Karen! Talk about synchronicity at work here! I’ve purchased The Artist’s Way Trilogy and am in week seven! Great thing is, I am going to be taking The Artist’s Way classes in NYC with Julia Cameron herself starting February 13th, 2008. I would love to participate here and share with everyone some of her classwork. Very cool!

Dawn.
I was just thinking I’d like to go through the Artists Way again (I completed it about a year ago)
I think it’s Synchronicity!

I would love to try, try again. I think participating in a blog would be a perfect little push. Although, last year I challenged a friend to go through the Artists Way with me – I quit after a few weeks and she finished. I’m going to let her know about this though in case she wants to go through it again. Great idea!
Hi Karen,
I read Cameron’s autobiography last year and was interested, but am a little nervous about keeping up with it, since I have not even posted in my blog in so long. – Though maybe it will help me with my blog too, since I seem more stuck there than I am with the jewelry right now.
I will give it a shot. When are you starting?
well, this is perfect timing. i have just started embarking on this journey myself this morning. i imagine i will need all the help and support i can get and will offer as much in return as i can.

The blog looks great!
I’m really looking forward to doing TAW again with some other artists to keep me motivated!
As someone who has been doing morning pages for years I can tell you all from experience- keep doing them! They work! I know how hard it is to get started doing them but really, slog through the resistance that you feel and make time for them. It *does* work!

I had never heard of this book till today, but I am very interested …off to search for it now .
Thanks for starting this blog and group! Looking forward to starting and completing this program.

I hope that this is an on-going blog. I have done TAW several times, always stopping at week #9, ..I have been looking for a group to do it with, hope this is it! Morning pages are routine with me. But now that I have joined the medical field as my work I feel great need to keep the artist part of me going and supported. Hope there are fellow artists who need my support too.
